Puppies will be Available for Adoption Soon!
The Dog Breeding Unit of the Animal Husbandry department in Saidapet is set to breed Kanin. It is also known as the Beastmaster of Maiden. This is a very rare South Indian sighthound, after 15 years. Puppies of Kanni will be available for sale in the next three months.
Approx two years before, in November 2016, the department has procured three Kanni puppies including a male and two female from a breeder in Virudhunagar. That time, they were one month old now; the dogs are ready to reproduce.

Apart from Kanni, there are seven Rajapalayams including male and six females and three Chippiparais including a male and two females in the unit.
The Dog Breed Unit will breed these dogs according to the rule implemented by the Central Government. The director of the Animal husbandry, A Gnanasekaran said that “the DBU has made a standard operating procedure to regulate this native dog breed programmer as per the government regulations”.
