How to travel with dog in train? Planning a trip with your pet can be a lot of fun. But trains are not built with animals in mind that is why the result is entirely unpredictable.
You could have a great trip with the preparation. It is the fact that travelling with dogs in India is very challenging as India is not a pet-friendly nation.
Travelling with Dog is the Subject of Rules and Regulations
You can take your dog while travelling on the train. But, this travel is the subject to some rules and regulations set by the India Railways. You can keep your pooch close, in the compartment, only when you are travelling by first class AC.
In the other instance, they will be held as luggage and travel in the luggage van. While carrying the dog in the train compartment, you need to make it seem that the doggie does not cause any nuisance.
You may Suffer with Your Pooch
You may face problem while travelling with your dog as dogs are accustomed to move freely in the house and rest on the bed. They do not like to be caged so, it’s tough to keep the peace in the train.
However, it is good to know that some trains have an in-built coop in guar’s coach of the train, where you can put your dog during the journey.
It is clear that you can carry a dog with you, but it is not safe. As they are kept in the separate compartment, the small box in which they are held is not comfortable. The coach where dogs are taken does not have an air conditioner.
So, overall travelling with dogs by train is possible but it is not the best option, especially if you cannot carry the dog within your compartment.
